SKATING CARNIVAL

MASQUERADE AND SPORTS HELD. Nearly 300 patrons attended the skating carnival in St/Joseph’s Hall, Hawera, on Wednesday night, the decorations of streamers combining with the vivid fancy costumes worn, by those present combining to make the hall a riot of colour. Competitions resulted as follows:— Women’s fancy dress: Mrs. Lord (Red Indian) 1; special prize (most original), Mrs. Goodwin (Maori woman) 1. Men’s fancy dress: J.
