ADVANCED WOOL PRICES

ODDMENTS AT AUCKLAND RISE FROM LAST YEAR’S SALES. buyers show keen interest. GOOD CLEARANCE EFFECTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A good clearance of crutchings at prices well in advance of those ruling at the end of the past wool season was made at the Auckland “clearing up” sale to-day. A small quantity of fleece wools and oddments was also offered, and although these were in less demand, where sales were effected values showed an improvement on those ruling in March. The number of buyers present was larger than was expected in view of the small offering, and competition was healthy throughout. Generally the results were regarded as highly satisfactory. t Prices for ’ better class crutchings ranged from 5d to 6fd, against from 4d to 5Jd in March, and a large number of sales were effected at 6d and over. Inferior and seedy sorts ranged from 3Jd to sd, with some selling to sjd, compared with the March range of from 2|d Jo 4d. In the case of fleece wools the highest price was 9d for Southdown, while halfbred ranged to 9£d. Crossbred wool of about medium count sold up to 7d, half bred lambs to 7<d and others to 6sd.
