The following report of the council of the New Zealand Golf Association will be presented to the. apa.ual of delegates at Christchurch on October The total revenue for the year amounted to £1616 7s 4d, and the expenditure, « which included £145 for expenses in connection with the British golf, teanifl tour, amounted to £1223 7s. The surplus . revenue for the year, £393 Os 4d, has been added to the accumulated fund. . At the close of the financial year there were credit balances of £32 Bs, and £lO2B 14s 7d at the National Bank ,pr New Zealand and the Post Office savings Bank respectively. A record number of new dubs, joined the association during the year. One club which has lost the use of land * on which it had its links; found it necessary to resign, but hopes to rejmn again later. The trial membership at th® close of the year was 254, as against 229, 212 and 200 in the preceding three association - gaged T. W. Green and J. A. Clements to coach at dubs this season and excellent bookings were, made fdr both men. As was the casa last year, the appointments were only for the actual time required for coaching and both engagements have now been terminated. T. W. Green coached at ten clubs in the North Island and J. A. Clements coached at nine clubs in the South Island. The services of both professionals were much appreciated. Excellent work continues to be dene by the golf greens research committee, Messrs. F. W. Hobbs (chairman), W. A. Kiely, M. H. Godby, A. Seifert, B. E, sKeiller, H. R. Jones, S. Eaton and G, ,i H. Holford, B.Sc., Agric. (secretary). Every assistance is given by Messrs. E, Bruce Levy and E. A. Madden, of the Plant Research Station at Palmerston North. The standard scratch score sub-conn mittee has allotted scores to 203 clubs. \
