PROVINCE’S RUGBY
DOUBLE BILL AT NEW PLYMOUTH. SEASON’S END FOR SOME CLUBS. Following to-day’s Taranaki Rugby Union senior competition matches there will be only three games to be decided.
Although none of the’ remaining ties have any bearing ; on the championship itself the competition is still interesting, particularly for second place. Two matches will arouse more than usual interest. Clifton and Hawera have been running neck and neck aU the season just behind Stratford and the tussle at Waitara will decide which is the better. There will be no match at Hawera, Athletic having forfeited to Eltham, and there is no match arranged for Stratford, the championship winner having the bye. Kaponga has defaulted to Okaiawa.
