On Thursday evening an enjoyable card afternoon was held at the home of Mrs. Hilmer, Preston Street. The rooms were decorated with berries, foliage and early spring flowers and glowing log fires brightened up tee dullness of the cold, wet weather. The prizes were won by Mesdames Gower, Bates, Scown and Gubb. The travelling prize went to Mrs. E. Scown and consolation prizes to Mesdames McKay, Sheehy, Clare and Miss McDonald. Mrs. H. Gubb, president Of the Eltham Croquet Club, thanked Mrs. Hilmer for her interest in and help to the club.
