SYDNEY ENGAGEMENT
HAWERA SINGER TO BROADCAST. FAREWELL TO MR. R. MAUNDER. ; About 40 friends gathered at Hawera on Thursday evening to farewell Mr. Richard Maunder,. the well-known Hawera singer and violinist, who leaves on Monday for Sydney, where he has been engaged to give a series of broadcasts by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Mr. R. D. C. McNeill expressed the hope that he would experience a successful tour. Mr. Maunder, in reply, thanked those present for their attendance and for the many kindnesses he had received from them during his stay at Hawera, particularly his host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. McNeill. Dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by Mr. J. Deverell. Messrs. V. Sansom and O. J. Brown were the masters of ceremonies.
