TRIBUTE TO CITIZEN
FUNERAL OF MR. K. O. ELLIS. REPRESENTATIVE ATTENDANCE. Representatives of every section of the community attended the funeral of the late Mr. R. O. Ellis at New Plymouth yesterday • and floral tributes were received from all parts of Taranaki. A short requiem service was conducted in St. Mary’s Church by Archdeacon F. G. Evans, assisted by the Rev. J. Templar, Archdeacon Evans referring te the wide esteem in which Mr. Ellis had been held by all who knew him and to the loss by the community in the death of a citizen whose life had been public spirited and useful. . At the conclusion of the graveside ceremony taken by the Rev. Templar, Wor. Bro. M. S. Hutton read the Masonic service of burial. The bearers at church and cemetery were Messrs. I. W. B. Roy, S. Vickers, A. S. Clark, F. L. Hartnell, W. Thomas and J. Sceats
