ELTHAM TALKIES. “THE BOWERY’’ MATINEE. ' “The Bowery,” featuring Wallace Beery, George Raft, Jackie Cooper and Fay Wray will be screened at the Eltham Talkies
; to-night and Monday night. This tine [ comedy-drama will please patrons who r like a lot of fun mixed with action. The j story deals with that section of New ; York known as the Bowery in the early I nineties. It brings back tho old songs 1 and dances, buxom chorus girls, bustled I girls, puffed sleeves, the drinking saloons ; and the low-brow vaudeville shows which seem so funny to modern ideas. The whole production is full of action, bristling with comical situation? and characters, but is most interesting from. a sensible point of view, and with a good supporting programme the whole is an excellent night’s entertainment. There will be a matinee to-day at 1.30 p.m.
