“NEW DEAL” COST
£1,800,000,000 SPENT ON RECOVERY. DETAILS GIVEN BY TREASURY. _ By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.30 p.m. Washington, July 19. The Treasury announced to-day that recovery and relief measures have involved an expenditure, to date of £2,016,200,000, of which about £2^0,000,000 was spent during the Hoover Administration and the balance under the “new deal.”
