Robinson when moving at the annual conference of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union to-day an Auckland remit urging that the funds of political parties be subject to audit by a Supreme Court judge, and that monies spent by any political organisation be open to inspection in the same way as monies spent by individual candidates. After half an hour’s discussion, during which several' delegates expressed the view that the debate was unworthy of the union and the subject outside its scope, the remit was lost by 26 votes to 23.
