SENIOR -TOURIST TROPHY RACE. FAST TIME BY STANLEY WOODS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 6.30 p.m. London, June 22. The . senior tourist trophy race over a course of 264 miles on the Isle of Man was won by Stanley Woods, riding a Guzzi. J. Guthrie -on a Norton was second and W. Rusk on a Norton was third. The time was three hours seven minutes ten seconds, a record, and the race was won by four seconds.' Woods averaged 84.68 miles an hour. Woods had just previously won the lightweight event. For the first time in 28 years it was necessary to postpone the race from yesterday to to-day. Heavy mist reduced visibility to a few yards on the mountain parts of the course.

Stanley Woods is one of the veterans of the motor-cycling sport and has many successes to his credit. He held the previous course record for an Isle of Man tourist trophy, having attained an average of more- than 81 miles an hour in “the senior event in 1933, in which year also he won the junior contest at 78 miles an hour.

The road circuit of 372 mile's on the Isle of Man, which has to be completed seven times, is one of the most hazardous in the world and includes many difficult bends.
