Mrs. O. Baigent and Miss Baigent, who have been the guests of Mrs. A. W. Packard, have returned to Wellington. Mrs. H. Linn, Mangatoki, is on holiday at Waitomo Caves and Auckland.

Mrs. C. P. Baker, New Plymouth, was a visitor to Eltham during .the week. Mrs. T. Parnell, who has been the guest of Mrs. S. E. Carson, has returned to Palmerston North. Mrs. E. Forster (Morrinsville) is staying with her mother, Mrs. Kilbride. Mrs. P. Coleman was hostess at tea on Wednesday. ’ ' Miss R. Nicholls, New Plymouth, spent the week-end at Eltham. Mrs. R. H. Gover was hostess at bridge on Wednesday afternoon. Those present were Lady Carncross, Mrs. A. A. Stewart, Mrs. Craig, Mrs. A. C. Belcher, Mrs. Weir, Mrs. G. Turner, Mrs. S. E. Carson and Miss Carncross. Mrs. C. C. Stanners was hostess at bridge on Monday afternoon. Those prewere Lady Carncross, Nlcsdames Wflls a" Craig. C. Gibson, Riddle, M. McGarry, G. H. P. v Fitzgerald, E. E. Carter, Morrison and P. De Launay and Miss S. Camcross. An evening was spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Sangster, Eltham, recently to celebrate the coming-of-age of their sixth daughter, Pat. Competitions were won by Mrs. G- Cameron and Mr. L. Ware. Those present were Mesdames W. Sangster, L. Nairn, G. Cameron, A. G. Knuckey, A. Carter, E. Old, L, Parsons, 0. Collingwood, Misses Pat Sangster, V. Sangster, P. Sangster, E. Walker, E. Burkett, S. Williams, F. Ricketts, D. Williams and I. Walker. Miss P. Fountaine was hostess at a farewell bridge party for Miss Mabel Carter on Monday evening. Prizes were won by Misses F. Frazer and G. Harcourt, and items were contributed by Miss M. Mehrtens and Miss K. Butler. The guest of the evening was presented with a pewter box filled with handkerchiefs. Those present were Mrs. J. Valintine, Misses M. and W. Carter, S. Camcross, K. Butler, E. Mehrtens, W. Carman, L. Ritter, G. Harcourt, T. Gibson, M. Kerr, Kelly, L. Carman, H. Stewart, W. Weir, V. Carncross, F. Frazer, B. Pease, R. Townsend and G. Syme.
