Tarata:.The monthly meeting was held in the hall on May 28. The motto was ‘Turn your face io the sunshine and the shadows fall behind.” Owing to ill-health the president, Mrs. Standish, was unable to attend and Mrs. King, vice-president, presided. Mrs. Standish presented a prize for a competition, which was won by Miss Thelma Skellem. An impromptu competition was held,/ The hostesses were Mesdames Topping and J. Paterson and Miss Waite. Huirangl: The monthly meeting was held in the supper-room of the Huirangi hall on May 25, when Miss Spargo, who presided over a fair attendance gave an account of the meeting held, at New Plymouth on May 3. Two new members were welcomed. Major F. W. Sandford, New Plymouth, gave a talk on the early Maoris. Miss D. Simpson proposed a vote of thanks to Major Sandfojd. The jumbled words competition was won by Mrs. Bovett after a tie with Miss Bovett. The hostess was Mrs. Honnor, who was assisted by other members.
