TARANAKI PLAYING WANGANUI. REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES TO-DAY Taranaki’s first inter-provincial Rugby matches of the season will be played today, when A and B teams will meet Wanganui in the annual King’s Birthday fixtures. The A match will be played at Wanganui and the B match at New Plymouth. The Wanganui B team, with Mr. J. Cotterill as manager, arrived at New Plymouth yesterday. . , ‘ : Of the 10 matches played in the last five years between the A teams, Taranaki has won nine, but with the addition of good material, notably E. R. G. Steere, Hawke’s Bay representative and All Black, Wanganui enthusiasts are confident that to-day’s match against an admittedly strong Taranaki, team will prove much more even '.than some of the recent games have been. There have been few alterations in the teams originally selected. Brogden, Taihape, chosen as Wanganui’s half-back, is unable to play, and J. Morgan has been moved from full-back to that position, J. Connelly replacing Morgan. ,H. Smith, first emergency forward, is not available and James (Rangitikei) will be. second emergency to Hansen. ■ The Taranaki A team will be as originally selected, although there was a possibility of Fowler’s injured shoulder not being well enough after Saturday’s trial game. Those, of the team not in Saturday’s trial went to Wanganui by car yesterday. The game will fie witnessed by all three Taranaki selectors. No further changes have been required in the . Taranaki B team and there has been only one alteration in the Wanganui B team, Cave replacing D, NeWlands. Davidson will be emergency forward. The teams are:— . r TARANAKI. A Team. Full-back: A.
