The winter meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club opened in bright sunshine, without wind, and before a good attendance. The course had recovered well from rain in the middle of the week and provided good winter going. . Red Dance fell and broke a leg in the Brighton Handicap, and had to be destroyed. The totalisator handled £11,779, compared with £12,026 for the corresponding day last year.
