Waitara Queen Carnival. The latest returns pf the voting in connection with the queen carnival, which is nearing a close, are: Football candidate (Miss C. Frost) 7855, seaside candidate (Miss M. Pizzey) 7188, Municipal Band candidate (Miss Fulcher) 1422. A large attendance is expected at the concluding dance hi the Clifton hall on Friday night, when voting will cease at 10 p.m. and will be followed by the official crowning of the successful candidate. Progress reports of the voting will be issued every 15 minutes. Music will be supplied by McNeill’s Dance Band and a good supper will be provided. Winners of competitions conducted by the football club in connection with the carnival are: Mrs. Gardiner (bottle of hair oil), Mr. Ray Telfar (251 b flour), Mr. Maul (31b tea), Mr. J. Hine (half case of apples), Mr. A. Anderson (half lamb), Mr. P. Jones (dinner), Mr. R. Brown (bottle of pickles), Mrs. A. McGregor (half pound of tea), Mr. J. A. Goodwin (iced cake).
