HIGH SPEED FLIGHT
AMERICAN CONTINENT CROSSED. RECORD COMMERCIAL PASSAGE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 8.30 p.m. New York, April 30. A newly designed “mystery transport plane” of Trans-Continental Western Air Lines, reported to be navigated by a mechanical pilot, arrived at New York at 6.59 o’clock to-night, making a record commercial flight from Los Angeles in 11 hours five minutes at a non-stop average speed of 220 miles an hour.
