AUTUMN FOURSOMES

GOLF EVENT FINAL TO-DAY WANGANUI PAIRS TO PLAY OFF. SEMI-FINALS CLOSELY CONTESTED. The New Zealand Ladies’ Golf Union’s autumn foursomes were continued at the Ngamotu links, New Plymouth, yesterday when the quarter-finals and semifinals were played. The weather conditions were anything but pleasant, heavy showers in the morning and a cold gusty wind in the afternoon inconveniencing the players considerably. The New Plymouth players who figured so prominently on Tuesday all met with defeat and the final will be an allWanganui affair between Mrs. Russell Grace and Mrs. Young and Misses Currie and Blyth. The final will be played this afternoon and the morning will be occupied by the medal handicap foursomes for the special prizes given by Dr. and Mrs. Walker. ,
