KAPONGA SCHOOL’S CELEBRATION. KING'S JUBILEE PROGRAMME. Tentative arrangements made for the jubilee celebrations for school children at Kaponga were confirmed at a meeting of the special committee on Tuesday. Mr. R. A. Law presided and representatives were present from the Riverlea, Rowan, Kaponga public, Kaponga Convent and Riverlea schools. It was decided to obtain jubilee badges and to distribute these to the pupils of the schools. The sports programme is to occupy approximately an hour, the children to be assembled at the post office at 12.30 p.m. and march to Victoria Park. It was estimated that about 350 children - would be catered for and the Mangatoki • and Riverlea school committees have decided to give £1 over and above their allowance. Arrangements were , also made to obtain a supply of sweets for distribution during the afternoon.

The picture entertainment at the town hall is timed to commence about 2.15 p.m.

The Kaponga Town Board is giving £5 towards the children’s function.
