Footballer Collapses.
Collapsing on the field during a Rugby football match between Arapuni and Arohena clubs, at Arapuni on Saturday, a mechanical engineer employed at the Horahora power station, Melville Samuel James Powell, aged 32, single, died shortly afterward. Death is believed to have been due to heart failure. The collapse occurred just before half-time and the game was not completed. Mr. Powell was well known in the district and had played football for a number of years. The Taranaki Regimental-Municipal Band will give a recital in the new State Theatre on Easter Sunday at 8.15 p.m. The loveliest women of London, Paris and New York use Elizabeth Arden preparations as recommended for daily use at home according to her scientific method.
