FUND AND LOANS IN CREDIT.

ESTIMATED AND ACTUAL SUMS.

- The district fund account and loan accounts of the Stratford borough were all in credit at the. end of the financial year on March 31, 1935, as shown by a statement submitted to the council last night by. the town clerk, Mr. P. Skoglund. The percentage of current rates collected was 91.28. . A credit of £784 is shown in the district fund account, and the loan accounts are in credit as follows: General purposes £2930, abattoir £6O, conversion £l5, insurance fund £2930. Rates struck for the year were £10,597 3s 2d, collected during 1934-35 £9672 16s 7d, and arrears £9OB 9s 2d, a total of ss 9d. The estimated receipts, with the actual receipts in parentheses, are: Licenses £l2OO (£1182), rents £lO5O (£1000), refunds and sundries £5OO (£495), subsidy on rates £2OO (£158), rest room £4O (£2B), library £250 (£268), town hall £l2O (£9O), abattoir £llOO (£1354), extra water supply £lO5O (£1105), cemetery fees £230 (£268), sanitation fees £6OO (£655), main highways £350 (£360), water rates £lBOO (£1878), 10 per cent, penalty £2O (£4), electricity £12,500 (£12,819), general and special rates £5950 (£5846).
