TOKO FOOTBALLERS

DANCE FOLLOWS TOURNAMENT. The Toko footballers’ dance, which -is held annually after the seven-a-side tournament, took place on Thursday evening. There was a good attendance, including members of several visiting teams. Vincen’s Ambassadors Band played the music and Mr. T. Bunbury was master of ceremonies. Mr. L. Knowles, president of the Toko club, presented the Kerin Cup and seven miniature cups to the Toko A. team and medals to the members of the Midhirst team, the runner up in the tournament. The captains of the teams acknowledged the presentations. Personal Items. Nurse Cheer, Greytown Hospital, is visiting Mrs. M. Gemhoefer. Mrs. Mackay has returned from a visit to Makahu. Miss Edna Keegan, Takapau, has been the guest of Miss Harper. Mr. and Mrs. Burgham have returned from Wellington. Mrs. A. Raynor, who had been staying at Rahotu, has returned to Toko with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hughson, who will shortly leave on an extended tour abroad. >

Mr. Kerin and Masters Jim and John and Miss Kerin have been visiting friends at Toko.

Miss Smail is the guest of Mrs. H. Milne, Waiwiri Road. Mi-, and Mrs. R. J. Baxter, New Plymouth, visited Toko at the week-end.

APPLICATIONS FOR GROUNDS.

DECISIONS OF DOMAIN BOARD.

Applications by sports bodies and organisations were considered at last night’s meeting of the Stratford Domain Board.

Permission to use Victoria Park was given to the United Old Boys Rugby Club for practice on Wednesday nights, the Stratford club for a match on Easter Monday and on April 27 and for training purposes, and the Stratford Old Girls’ Hockey Club for play during the season. King Edward Park was granted to the Salvation Army for a picnic on Easter Monday.
