ST. PETER'S CHURCH OFFICERS. The annual meeting of. parishioners of St. Peter’s Church, Tataraimaka, was held after the evening service. There was an attendance of 11.
The election of officers resulted: Chairman, Canon Newbould; vicar’s warden, Mr. E. Honeyfield; people’s warden, Mr. P. Hoby; committee, Mesdames W. Honeyfield and J. Honeyfield, Messrs. H. Luckin and B. Blundell. The Saturday night dance organised by the young people of the district, with Miss L. McCarty as secretary, in aid of the sweets stall on gala day, was most enjoyable and profitable, nearly £4 being made. Misses K. and N. Goodin played . the music and extras were played on, the accordeon by Mr. Ted Benton. Mr. W. McCarty jun. was master of ceremonies. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr. E. Julian and Miss 6. McCarty. while prizes for euchre given by Mrs. W. Young, went to Mr. E. Julian and Mrs. W.’Honeyfield. A competition for a box of chocolates was won by Mr. Ben Matson.
The loss of the bridge on the beach road has handicapped the farming operations . of Mr. J. Strong, depending upon it as he did for access to the back half of his property. Now that the ploughing season is in full swing, the problem is serious, as it is impossible to get implements across and grass sowing has to be done by hand. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Benton and family returned to Te Kuiti after spending a holiday with Mrs. Benton’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. Penwarden,' Pitone Road. Mrs. P. Hoby spent a week-end as the guest of Mrs. H., R. Billing, Carrington Road, New Plymouth;
Mr. Ken Honeyfield, who has- returned
after being in the New Plymouth Hospital for several weeks, is convalescing.
Mr. O. Penwarden lacerated a finger severely last Tuesday, when, in pushing on a small grease cap, his hand slipped against the revolving cog-wheels of a motor he was repairing.
