“NOW TIME TO BEGIN”
LLOYD GEORGE AND “NEW DEAL.”
MATERIAL CHEAP, MONEY IDLE.
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 6.35 p.m. London, April 13. “Now is the time to begin, when material is cheap, labour is abundant and money is idle,” said Mr. Lloyd George in again discussing his “new deal" at a crowded meeting at Glasgow. He explained it was difficult to enter fully into details pending the Government’s decision. “I shall meet a formidable Cabinet sub-committee on April 18 with trepidation,” he added, “but I am confident, that the practicability of the proposals will carry me through. When the Government has finally decided I shall publish a full memorandum and allow the country to judge the merits of the scheme.”
