SUCCESSFUL BREEDING BEGUN. UNIFORM TYPE THE OBJECT. The annual meeting of the Inglewood Pig Club was held on Saturday night, when Mr. H. Marsh presided over 17 members of the club.

The president said the club was- formed in October, when a sow was purchased and an up-to-date sty erected. The 20 members of the club paid £1 each and he thought that the club was in a very good position to be only £5 18s in debt. He thought it should soon be free of debt. The balance showed that the principal receipts, were subscriptions £2O and sale of weaner pigs £l4 14s, while the main expenses were purchase of sow £l6 16s, erection of sty £l3 Ils 9d, custodian £6 15s. The receipts amounted to £35 4s and expenditure to £4l 2s. The president said thanks were due to. Mr. Sutton, who brought the sow from Hawera free, of cost, to Mr, Paynter, who donated shingle, and to Mr. Pennington for donating battens. The chairman said , the club had become a registered member of the New Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association and he thought tfce pigs of the club should be branded. The election of officers resulted: Chairman, Mr. H. Marsh; executive, Mesrs. Marsh, R. B. Sutton, A. M. Coyne, A. Dodunski and B. Bennett; delegates to central committee, Messrs. Marsh and Sutton and Coyne. ■ 1 It was decided the boar should be registered. The delegates to the central committee were instructed to vote in favour of a central boar, as the aim of pig clubs was to produce a uniform type of pig but till definite arrangements were made it was decided to continue under the present conditions. Most of the members who had secured pigs from the last litter. signified . their willingness to register their pigs.. The proposed rules of the central committee were approved. The. matter of later interchanging pigs with other clubs was discussed and the delegates were instructed, to bring the. matter up l at the central meeting. SUCCESSFUL MART. INGLEWOOD SCHOOL JUBILEE. The .teachers of the Inglewood public school held a successful mart in aid of the school jubilee. funds on Saturday, over £22 beifig realised by stalls, competitions and a copper trail. The teachers in charge were Miss Tarry, Miss Sinclair, Miss Gernhoefer, Miss Nutting, Miss Longbottom and Mr. Brown and Mr. Lovegrove. The school had been divided into three sections for a competition to see whose stall could realise the most, and the competition was won by J. Faris’ stall with over £5, with Betty Sutton’s stall second and S. Bennett’s third. Competitions resulted: Tennis socks, Dawne McKeen; apron, Dawne McGowan; golfer, Peter Pitton;' torch, Mr. M. Burrows; dolS, Lucette Weame; scanties, E. Julian; dinner, Mrs. Lovell and Mrs. G. Burrows equal; Easter egg, Lucette Wearne; jumper, Mrs. Fougere; traycloth, Audrey Eversfiela.
