RADIOLOGIST AT AUCKLAND.

SEVEN APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, April 11.

Seven applications for the position of radiologist at the Auckland hospital were considered to-day. The appointment was referred to the staff executive for a recommendation to the next meeting. There are four entrants from England and one each from Germany, Australia and New Zealand.

The London executive, consisting of the High Commissioner (Sir James Parr) and Dr. Victor Bonney, recommended its appointment of Dr. W. W. Main, of England. The New Zealand applicant is Dr, C. D. Costello (New Plymouth). The board has accepted the offer of the Health Department to accommodate the local tubercular cases in the Waipukurau Sanatorium, thus relieving congestion in the Auckland hospital wards.
