DEATH OF MRS. WELLS
RESPECTED WAITARA RESIDENT.
SYMPATHY IN WELFARE MATTERS.
Mrs. H. J. M. Wells, a. widiely-known and respected resident of Waitara, died at her home yesterday after an illness of some months. Mrs. Wells was greatly interested in church and Plunket Society affairs and, being of a pleasing disposition, had a very wide circle of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Wells, who were born in Norfolk, came to New Zealand from England 20 years ago, Mr. Wells taking the position of manager of Hallenstein Bros.’ New Plymouth branch. Later Mr. and Mrs. Wells moved to Waitara, where Mr. Wells entered business on his own account. Mrs. Wells was greatly interested in all matters pertaining to St. John’s Anglican Church and the Waitara branch of the Plunket Society, of which she was secretary from its formation. She was also president of the Waitara section of the Young Helpers’ League. Mrs. Wells is survived by Mr. Wells and two sons and a daughter, Messrs. G. L. Wells (Wellington) and A. J. Wells (Waitara) and Miss A. M. Wells (Waitara). Mrs. R. Leach (Singapore) is a sister.
The funeral will leave the residence, Mouatt Street, Waitara, on Sunday afternoon.
