ANALYSIS OF WELLINGTON SALES.
£8 Ils A BALE AGAINST £l3 7s.

Wellington, April 10. A marked decline 1 in the price, of wool since last year is shown by the official figures of the sales held at Wellington this season. Last month’s sale at Wellington realised only £166,943, compared with £325,241 for the March sale last year, a reduction of nearly 50 per cent. The total gross proceeds for the four sales so far held at Wellington this season are £719,871, compared with £1,790,060 for the corresponding sales for last year, a reduction of £1,070,189. In comparing- the figures allowance must be made for the fact that, .apart. from the much . lower prices paid for wool this season, the quantities offered and sold are well below those of last season. The average price per bale at the March sale was £8 Ils 2d compared with £l3 17s Id in March last year and £6 13s 6d the year before. The fifth and final sale of the season will be held at Wellington on Friday afternoon when it is expected that about 8650 bales will be offered.
