REFEREES’ DISPUTE

ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL PLAY.

NO ACTION TAKEN B.Y COUNCIL.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, April 10. A deputation from the New Zealand Referees’ Association waited on the New Zealand Association Football Council last night to urge the necessity of effecting a solution of the dispute among members of the Auckland Referees’ Association, which had culminated in its disbandment last year.

When the disruption came it was explained that an association styling itself the Auckland Referees’ and Linesmen’s Association wais formed, but it had not arrived at a solution. The delegation suggested that the New Zealand council should order a conference to see if certain of the referees had received just treatment.

The chairman said that the problem was really one for the Auckland Football Association. Tire New Zealand Football Council did not wish to take any decisive action, but would be alert to prevent any injustice being done.
