SOUTH’S EASY WIN
CROQUET MATCH PLAYED.
NORTH WINS ONLY ONE GAME.
South Taranaki croquet representatives were much too strong for North Taranaki when matches were played at the Hawera club’s greens yesterday. South won five singles and two doubles „■ matches to North’s one doubles game, ' one singles game between Exley ‘ and Mrs. Harvey being unfinished. The greens were in good condition and play was at all times keen. Details, with South names first, are:— Singles: Mrs. Masters beat Mrs, Tingey 26—23, Mrs. Bull beat Mrs. Coad 26—18, J. M. Clague beat Mrs, S. Clarke 26—22, A. J. Gibbs beat F. L. Hartnell 26—14, J. Exley ,v. Mrs. Harvey 19—18 (unfinished), Mrs.' McKay beat • Mrs. Broad 26—1.
Doubles: Clague and Mrs. McKay beat F. Hartnell and Mrs. Harvey 25—14, Exley and Mrs. Bull lost to Mesdames Broad and Codd 15—26, Gibbs and Mrs. Masters beat Mesdames Clarke and Tingey 26—11.
