DETAILS OF REFUND TO CLUBS.

TUKAPA GAINS LARGEST AMOUNT.

The position relating to the amount refunded to senior clubs in Taranaki from gate receipts was disclosed at last night’s annual meeting of the union. The gross returns during 1934 amounted to £1402 as against £1214 in 1933. In the following details of refunds made the 1933 figures are given in parentheses: Clifton, travelled 542 miles, refunded £24 . 12s lOd (£2O 4s Ud); Inglewood, 392 miles, £l6 8s 6d (£l3 2s 9d); United Old Boys, 256 miles, £l5 9s (£l7 15s 4d); Star, 549 miles, £34 W 5d (£42 2s 9d); Old Boys, 575 miles, £36 9s 3d (£22 7s Id); Tukapa, 456 ; miles, £45 0s Id (£27 3s 6d); Stratford, 262 miles, £25 2s Id (£37 0s Id); Kaponga, 360 miles, £l9 8s 6d (£l9 8s 9d); Waiipate, 414 miles, £26 7s 8d (£24 7s 4d); Eltham, 200 miles, £2l Us 9d (£l3 2s 7d); Qpunake, 391 miles, £2O 18s 8d (£23 0s lOd); Hawera, 324 miles, £l9 6s 3d (£ll 2s); Okaigwa, 394 miles, £24 Us 2d (£l2 8s 2d); Empire Old Boys, 304 miles, £l3 14s 3d (£l2 17s 4d); Patea, 644 miles, £44 2s 2d (£34 16s 3d); total, £387 18s 7d (£330 19s 8d). The division of gates was made on the following basis: From the gross gate was deducted first the gatekeepers’ expenses, second the referees’ expenses, third advertising costs, fourth ground rent (being 15 per cent, of the gross gate), fifth 10 per cent, of the gross gate for the insur- • anca fund. The nett balance, after the deductions, was divided as follows: 27J per cent, into a pool for allocation to clubs on a mileage basis, 271 per cent, divided between competing teams in each match, 45 per eent. to the' union.
