DANCE IN KIORE HALL
I GENERAL AND PERSONAL NEWS. A long night dance was held in the Kiore hall on Friday night to raise funds to send the school children to the championship sports at Kohuratahi. Visitors came from surrounding districts, including Te Wera, Matau. Purarigi and Huiroa. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Rena Knox and Mr. J. Thornley, Te Wera. and a statue waltz was won by Miss Molly Knox and Mr. Jim Knox, Matau. Competition prizes given by Mrs. W. McCoard, Matau. and Mrs. M. Knox, were won by Mr. G. Porteous and Miss Gwitha McCoard. Music was supplied by Messrs. Stockley, Patterson, C. Whittaker and Miss Rena Knox. Mr. M. Knox was master of ceremonies. Misses A. Lofroth and J. Lofroth, Toko, who were the guests of Mrs. M. Knox, returned home for the week-end.
