CLUBS’ CHAMPIONSHIP STRATFORD WINS SEMI-FINAL. BIG SCORE AGAINST PIHAMA. In a most decided manner two rinks chosen to represent the Stratford Bowling Club defeated two from the Pihama club at Manaia on Saturday and won the right to play off with the West End club to decide the club championship of Taranaki and the holder for the season of the centre’s shield. Stratford’s victory with a margin of 41 points was remarkable for a semi-final contest, especially against such keen bowlers as the Pihama rinks, who have not otherwise suffered defeat in shield matches this season.
