NIGHTLY’S LAST RACE?
POOR FORM AT AWAPUNI. MAY BE SENT TO THE STUD. (By Wire.—Special to News). Palmerston K[., Last Night. Probably Nightly’s race in the Awapuni Cup to-day was his last. He ran very badly and finished at the tail of the field. This, following on his failure in the Thompson Handicap at Trantham last week, has decided.his owner, Mr. J. A. McDougall, not to persevere with him. Nightly’s wind affliction is becoming worse and the present intention is not to knock him about with further racing. No doubt he will be used for stud purposes. He is by Night Raid from Miss Muriel and is a fine big horse.
