BOXING ASSOCIATION WORK. OFFICERS ELECTED AT HAWERA. A loss of £7 6s 7d during the year ( was shown in the balance-sheet of the ' Hawera Boxing Association presented to th* annual meeting last night. Mr. A. H. Guy, who presided, made a formal report on the year’s working. In moving the adoption Mr. Guy said an endeavour was made to hold four tournaments last year, but unfortunately the final one had to be abandoned. The association had concluded an arrangement with J. Jarvis, Eltham, to fight as a professional with the association, and the probability was that tournaments during the coming year would include a professional bout. He expressed appreciation of the executive’s loyal support. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Dr. H. D. Cameron; president, Mr. A. H. Guy; vice-presidents, Monsignor Cullen, Messrs. J. E. Campbell and J. J. Godwin; treasurer, Mr. A. H. Shaw; committee, Messrs. C. Duggan, L. R. Davies, S. Moore, W. Cropp, A. Hurrell, D. T. Simon, R. J. O’Dee),
H. Sargent; hon. auditor, Mr. R. Renderson; hon. secretary, Mr. S. R. Veitch; hon. surgeons, Drs. H. D. Cameron and T. M. Fitzgerald. The subscription was fixed at 10s, which will include admission to all bouts promoted by the association. Votes of thanks were accorded Drs. Cameron and Fitzgerald and Mr, J. J. ’ Goodwin. A special tribute was paid to Mr. Goodwin for his help. At a subsequent meeting of the committee the following sub-committees were appointed: Match, Messrs. E. T. Simon, A. Hurrell, S. Moore, R. J. O’Dea; gear, Mr. S. Moore; emergency, i Messrs. Guy, Simon, Shaw and Veitch; ■ j : gymnasium, Messrs. Moore and Hurrell. | (
