NEW PLYMOUTH QUOTATIONS. Another rise of 2d a dozen in the price Of eggs was the only material change in market prides at New Plymouth during the week. Yesterday’s quotations were:— Fruit: Apples, Jonathan, 51b for Is; Delicious, 51b for Is; cookers, 61b for Is; Cox’s, 31b for Is; oranges, Sunkist, 5 for Is; lemons, Tauranga, 8 for Is; bananas, 2|lb for Is; tomatoes 2|lb for Is; peaches, 3 and 41b for Is; bottling pears, 51b for Is; hothouse grapes, Is 6d per lb; pears, 4d per lb; passion fruit, 8d per dozen; Sunkist grape fruit, 5d each; quinces, 31b. for Is. Vegetables: New potatoes, local, 71b. for Is; onions, 61b for Is; silver beet, 3d bundle; swedes, Id per lb; corn, 2d cob; jam melons, Id lb; root vegetables, 3d a bundle; pickling onions, 101 b for IS; pumpkins, 41b for 6d; cabbage, 6d and Is each; celery, 6d and 8d a head; marrows, 3d and 6d each; peas, fid lb. At the wool sale 8948 bates were offered, including 5533 from New Zealand and 3320 from Australia, and approximately 8298 New Zealand and Australian were sold. There was active home and Continental competition. Crossbreds found a ready sale to Bradford at steady rates. Merino showed 5 per cent, advance on last closing rates. New Zealand prices were: Greasy crossbred, Netherton, top B|d, average 7fd; halfbred lambs, slipe, T.B.’s Canterbury, top 12d, average HJd.
