SIR GEOFFREY KNOX
HOLIDAY IN SWITZERLAND. STRENUOUS WORK IN SAAR. London, March 12. Sir Geoffrey Knox, who has completed his work as chairman of the Governing Commission of the Saar, is taking three months’ leave in Switzerland before returning to the diplomatic service. In a leading article the Times says Germany and France have shown the greatest forbearance over the Saar, but the League of Nations also deserves credit for the unprecedented experiment successfully carried out by Sir Geoffrey. The paper proceeds: “Sir Geoffrey displayed great efficiency, power of decision, with judgment and foresight, and unflinching courage in the face of personal risk. Tire diplomatic part of the transfer has been equally well accomplished. Baron Aloisi and his colleagues on the committee which arranged the transfer hope that the German administration will maintain the high standard of the past 15 years of international control
