NEW PLYMOUTH GOLF

ANNUAL MEETING OF THE CLUB. SOUND POSITION OF FINANCES. The annual meeting of members of tlie New Plymouth Golf Club took place last night, when Mr. F. S. Johns presided over an attendance of about 30. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet Mr. Johns thanked members for their continued interest. He congratulated the club on another successful year in spite of the depression. The position was sound, the revenue having shown an increase, and there was a net profit oh the year’s working after allowing liberal depreciation. During the year £195 of debentures had been repaid. A large sum had been spent on the installation of a watering system, and he was sure this expenditure would justify itself. Tlie motion was seconded by Mr. H. W. Kirkby and carried without discussion. The election of officers resulted: President, Dr. E. A. Walker; vice-presi-dents, Dr. G. Home, Messrs. R. W. D. Robertson and C. H. Burgess; club captain, .Mr. F. S. Johns; hon. auditor, Mr. N. Trewby; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. H. Wynyard; committee, Messrs. G. M. Chong, J. H. Boon, St. L. Reeves, H. W. Kirkby, A. L. Moore and L. R. Curtis. The subscriptions were fixed at the same as last year with two alterations, that the country members’ subscription be increased to £3 3s and that a reduction of £1 be made to the joint subscription of a husband and wife in the case of full playing members. It was recommended to the committee that certain minor alterations be made to the bunkers at the 3rd, 4th, 7th and 15th holes.
