DAIRY BOARD POLLS

GOVERNMENT’S NOMINEES

QUESTION ASKED IN HOUSE.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night.

Mr. C. A. Wilkinson asked the Minister of Agriculture in the House of Representatives to-day if the Government had considered the question of Government appointments to the Dairy Board. Did the Government accept any responsibility for repeated statements that such appointments had already been arranged, and did the Government recognise that Such statements were likely to prejudice the prospects of candidates residing in localities where it was stated such Government appointees resided? he asked. The Hon. C. E. Macmillan replied that the Government had given considerable thought to the question, but no decision had yet been made. Statements of the nature referred to had no foundation, and the Government could not accept any responsibility for them, or for any prejudicial effect they may have upon any candidate or candidates.
