EGMONT VILLAGE SCHOOL
PICNIC AT NGAMOTU BEACH. After two previous attempts to hold it, the Egmont Village school picnic was held on Friday on Ngamotu beach in fine weather. The headmaster, Mr. G. Barnes, organised teams for rounders. Bathing was a popular pastime. Two ocean liners attracted the children to the wharves. School Committee. Tire Egmont Village school committee met in the senior school-room on Friday evening.- Present: Messrs. H. R. Marsh (chairman), W. J. Guilford (secretary), J. O. Morton, J. Adamson Two tenders were received for weedcutting, that of Mr. S. Shallard being accepted. Arrangements were completed for a children’s sports day in the school grounds on March 21. Mothers are to be asked to provide refreshments. The programme of events will be arranged by the headmaster (Mr. G. Barnes). Messrs. Marsh and Morton reported that the grounds and outbuildings were in good order.
