CONTROL OF TENNIS
INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION. REDISTRIBUTION OF VOTING. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright, London, March 3. The Observer says that the International Tennis Federation on March 15 will consider a redistribution of votes, giving greater recognition to countries which have become more important since the votes were originally allotted. The votes of France, Britain, Australia, Germany and America will be increased from six to 12; Canada, Italy, New Zealand and South Africa will be increased from four to nine; Japan, Czechoslovakia, which formerly had two, will be given nine; and other countries with three will be given seven, with proportionate increases among the lower representations. Thus the voting power will be increased from 99 to 259. The change also gives the federation a larger income, as the cost per vote at the annual meeting was increased from jy. to £2, giving an income of over ’£sso.
