The game was hard fought and produced many long rallies and some good tennis. Miss D. Gatenby (7) will meet Miss N. Astbury (scr.) in the women’s final. For the men’s racquet H. Linn (10) will play L. Astbury (2) and S. Morgan (owe 19) will play J. Lambie (10) in the semi-finals.

STRATFORD AND KAPONGA. On Friday inter-club croquet matches were played at Stratford and Eltham. Mrs. J. D. McKay and Miss Thomas beat Mrs. Harkness and Mrs. Moon in both games. Mrs. Manley and Mrs. Fountaine lost both their games played with Mrs. Broklebank and Mrs. Butchart Mrs. Egarr and Mrs. Thomas beat Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Coward in two games. Mrs.’ Gower and Mrs. Bates played Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Summerfield two games—one win for Stratford players and one for Eltham. Kaponga players were entertained at Eltham and enjoyed their day, the honours being divided Mrs. Thurston and Mrs. Summers lost to Mrs. Tyack and Mrs. Gardiner. Mrs. Hilmer and Mrs. Clare beat Mrs. Thurston and Mrs. Benny.
