TOWN CRICKET TEAM BEATEN. GALLICHAN’S FINE BOWLING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Country cricket representatives achieved a convincing victory by three wickets over Town in the annual match, which was concluded at the Basin Reserve, Wellington, this afternoon. A. Cutler (Manawatu) ended the match in spectacular fashion by lifting J. R. Lamason into the stand enclosure for six. Country’s victory was enthusiastically received by the crowd. Continuing its second innings this morning Town was all out for 208 shortly before lunch. Country required 158 runs in the second innings to win the match.
