GOLFING AT WAIWAKAIHO. HASELL’S FINE ROUND. There was a good entry for the medal handicap on the Waiwakaiho golf links on Saturday. The fairways were in excellent order after the recent rains, though the greens were patchy. The feature was a splendid round of 73 by A. S. Hasell. This equals the official course record.

ELTHAM CLUB’S LINKS. FULL 18-HOLE COURSE PLANNED. The Eltham Golf Club proposes to alter the links from 12 to 18 holes and the new lay-out will be available this season. The total distance of the links will be about 5300 yards and the par of the course will probably be 71. The first green will be a new one, about ISO yards from the club house, situated to the right of the present fairway on a slope overlooking a gully The second will also be a new hole and the green will be right alongside the woolshed, the tee being the present Bth with the fairway running parallel to the boxthorn hedge. The next two holes are the ones now played as the ninth and 10th. The fifth tee has been taken further, out along the ridge and the green known as the 11th. shifted back. The sixth will be the old 12th. and the seventh the original first, the tee being near Mr. J. Quin’s house. ' ■ j The old second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth will become the eighth, ninth, 10th., Uth. and 12th. respectively. A new one-shot hole over the edge of the gully, the tee being directly behind the present sixth green, will form the 13th. This hole will be 110 yards and the green will be of fair size on top of a ridge. This will be a tricky hole. ' The 14th. will be a new hole playable from a point south of the 13th. green and will be situated in the bottom of/ the gully where the old green known aji the “orchard” was many years ago. ■ • From there another old green known as the “Dog’s Hind Leg” will be played, the green being right below the new 13th. tee. A walk up a small stope to the 16th. tee will carry play to the green known as the “Matai.” The 1/th. and 18th. will be the holes now played as the eighth and 12th.
