' TARURUTANGI AGAIN URENUI DEFEATED BY 73 RUNS. L. BISHOP’S GOOD BOWLING. Playing at Urenui on Saturday, Tarurutangi maintained its unbeaten career, defeating Urenui by 73 runs. Urenui had first strike but started badly, losing C. Collingwood and W. Sheard with the total at seven, both batsmen falling victims to Stan. Giddy behind the wickets. R. Wilson, with I. Sheard, the opening batsman, raised the total to 26 before the former was run out. With the score at 35 I. Sheard was stumped by Stan. Giddy. Though only one of the remaining batsmen failed to score, none of them reached double figures, the best being I. Godderidge, and the innings closed for 60. L. Bishop was in splendid form, capturing five wickets for 16 runs. At one stage his figures were five for eight, but I. Godderidge hit him for six. The Tarurutangi captain altered his batting order, opening with Sp. Giddy and Street. - Collingwood’s second over proved fatal to Giddy, who had made three. L. Bishop joined Street and, when he was bowled by B. Allen for 14, the partnership had added 30. L. McKoy assisted Street to pass Urenui’s total, the fourth wicket being down for 73. The next three wickets added only seven runs, but Eric Giddy (26 retired, including a four and a six), and Norm. Giddy (17, including three boundaries), were mainly responsible for the score reaching 133 for nine wickets. C. Collingwood, four for 26, was the best of six bowlers tried. Detailed scores are:— .
