GIRL HOLDS INTRUDER
' CAPTURE TN BEDROOM. • A 14-year-old girl, Mary Rogers, congratulated by the Recorder, Mr. Digby Cotes Preedy, ■ K.C., at Oxford City quarter sessions, • London, • for the part she played in the arrest of a man. The man, James Henry Fothergill, aged 58, pleaded guilty to breaking into the house of Mr. John Rogers, Iffley road, Oxford. Mr;.. John Faster, prosecuting, said that-the girl was awakened by Fothergill in her bedroom. She pluckily got out of bed; seized . the man and held him uritil" her shouts brought her-father. The. Recorder, . sentencing Fothergill to 10 months’ hard labour, Said he took, into account-the fact that he did not assault the girl.
