MATAPU CRICKET DANCE

There was a large attendance at the dance held bn Tuesday night iii aid of the cricket club and Farmers’ Union. Dancing enthusiasts were present from Stratford, Eltham and Hawera. Music was played by Vinseh’s Ambassadors, with extras by Misses M. Guy and B. Seed. A “mystery train” dance was introduced and caused much amusement, the winners being Miss J. Findlay and Mr. W. Gatenby. Other novelty dances were won by Mr. W. Grindlay and partner and Mn. C. Smillie and partner. Messrs- A. Lbbban and E. Guy were masters of ceremony. Supper v/as served by members of the cricket club under the supervision of Mesdames Guy and Seed. Amprig those present were Mesdames Seed, navy blue celanese; Guy, blue ifiarbcain; H. Hoskin, white georgette arid lace; Misses L. Foremari, red satin; B. Seed, pink crinkle crepe; M. Guy, black celanese; S. Gatenby, green floral voile; A; Devon (Wellington), white Satih arid brocade; M. Startup, lemon georgette; N. Rowlands, green floral georgette; R. Seed, blue satin; E. Robertson; black satin; M. Wilson, black pin-cord satin; G. Paton (Eltham), orange celanese; G. Hutchins (Eltham), t'arigeririe velvet; M. Riley (green taffetas); E. Pepperell, green windswept satin.
