Mrs. M. Brown is spending a holiday at Mangatoki. Miss W. Sutton is on holiday at Wanganui. Miss N. Bennett is spending a holiday at Palmerston North. Mrs. W. Duggan, who has been spending a holiday with her mother at Raglan, has returned to Manaia. Mesdames A. H. Christie, W. McDonald and W. J. Snowden are visitors at New Plymouth, where they are taking pari in the croquet championships. Brown Owl N. Christie and Tawney Owl B. Hobday have left to take part in the Girl Guide rally at Trentham. A successful garden party in aid of funds for the Manaia Tennis and Croquet Club was held at the home of Mrs. A. H. Christie. Thefe was a large attendance and the afternoon _ was spent in tennis, croquet and competitions. Tennis was in progress when rain commenced. The results of some of the competitions were: Bell croquet, Mr. J. Clague; skallywag, Mr. G. Innes; croquet, Master J. Clague. The flames 6f flowers competition was won by Mrs. P. Instbne.
