FIJI ISLANDS GOLD
WORKING OF EMPEROR MINE. COMPANY HAS SPENT £70,009. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Suva, Feb. 18. Mr. E. G. Theodbfe leaves for Sydfiey on Tuesday with a second parcel bf gold from the Emperor mine at TavUa. It IS believed to be about 280 Ounces, the result of a fortnight’s run following the first shipment bf about 300 ounces. Mr,' Clive Joske, who is Visiting the Emperor mine, reports that the tunnel into the hillside is 150 feet below the crown and is 1000 feet long. There ere, in addition, Other tunnels and an open cut. The Emperor Company proprietors have spent £70,000.
