Mri Stanley Baldwin in a speech at Chelsea emphasised the need for the continuance bf the National Government because he did nOt believe the Conservatives alone would win a clear majority in the United Kingdom owing to the possibility bf split votes. The stronger and more united was the Government, he added, the greater Was its weight and influence abroad.
